Habit: erect tufted grass. Habitat: open ground and roadside. Soil: clay. Flowers: green open panicle. Leaves are bright green, dying below. Fruit is cream or brownish. Bark: pale green. Roots: deep seated. Frequent on open ground, roadsides and fields. It occurs in dry situations.
