Habitat and Description: An erect low grass in small tufts; it occurs in open fields. Sandy soil. Flowers a terminal panicle of 4 dense spikes. Greenish color. Leaves long, linear, 10 to 14 cm. long. It occurs in small colonies in sandy situations in Willacy Co.
