Habitat and Description: Open hillside seepage bog, geology: contact of Whitsett and Catahoula Formations. Associates include Burmannia capitata, Coreopsis linifolia, Drosera capillaris, Eriocaulon decangulare, Eryngium integrifolium, Liatris pycnostachya, Marshallia tenuifolia, Magnolia virginiana, Myrica heterophylla, Ptilimnium costatum, Polygala ramosa, Rhynchospora gracilenta, R. chalarocephala, R. macra, R. oligantha, Sarracenia alata, Xyris ambigua, X. scabrifolia, X. drummondii, and X. baldwiniana.
