F. M. 471 and F. M. 1283. Government Canyon State Natural Area. San Geronimo Quadrangle. Elev. 1080 - 1100 ft.

Habitat and Description: Rare in rocky loamy soil in deciduous woodland in bed of and along banks of small intermittent creek in narrow limestone canyon. Associates include Aesculus pavia var. flavescens, Amorpha roemeriana, Celtis reticulata, Cercis canadensis var. texensis, Croton fruticulosus, Diospyros texana, Eysenhardtia texana, Forestiera reticulata, Garrya lindheimeri, Ilex decidua, Juglans microcarpa, Juniperus ashei, Parthenocissus heptaphylla, Ptelea trifoliata, Prunus serotina, Rhamnus caroliniana, Quercus buckleyi, Q. fusiformis, Q. laceyi, Sapindus saponaria var. drummondii, Sophora secundiflora, Ulmus crassifolia, Ungnadia speciosa, Viburnum rufidulum, Vitis berlandieri, V. monticola, Carex planostachys, Dichanthelium oligosanthes, Argythamnia simulans, Brickellia cylindracea, Chaptalia nutans, Commelinantia anomala, Galactia texana, Hedeoma acinoides, Lespedeza texana, Matelea reticulata, Maurandya antirrhiniflora, Melica nitens, Ruellia drummondiana, Senecio obovatus, Tradescantia edwardsiana, Triodanis coloradoensis, Verbesina virginica.
