Locality: United States, Texas, Walker, 6.4 mi. North of Jct. of IH-4 and FM 1274 at New Waverly on IH-45. Park road intersects IH-45 West side of IH-45. Along Big and Little Chinquapin Creeks.
Habitat and Description: Loblolly Pine- Shortleaf Pine- White Oak- Southern Red Oak- Mockernut Hickory on slopes and creek bottoms. Uplands are dominated by Shortleaf Pine- Loblolly Pine- Post Oak- Blackjack Oak- Black Hickory and Bluejack Oak on xeric sandy sites. Loamy soils along mid slopes, creek bottoms, between drainages, and upper watersheds (Depcor-Huntsburg-Gunter-Landman Association). Fine loam along wide creek sections (Kanebreak Association). Upland hill tops are deep sands.
