Habitat and Description: Habit erect tufted grass; habitat open fields; annual; perennial roots; on side of highway; soil sandy; flowers terminal panicles; color greenish-purple; month Sept.-Oct.; leaves linear, crowded at base. Not abundant, occurs in tufts among the other grasses.
