Habitat and Description: Frequent in shallow, well drained, slightly acid, gravelly sandy loam Lithic Ustochrepts (Keese Series) on open to sparsely wooded W-facing slope and level upland. Associates include Allium canadense var. fraseri, Aristida sp., Bouteloua hirsuta, Chaetopappa asteroides, Commelina erecta, Coreopsis basalis, Croptilon divaricatum, Eragrostis secudiflora, Gaillardia pulchella, Galium texense, G. virgatum, Helenium badium, Helianthemum georgianum, Heteropogon contortus, Juncus marginatus, Linum hudsonioides, Paspalum setaceum, Pellaea ovata, Phacelia congesta, Plantago wrightiana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Sedum nuttallianum, Selaginella peruviana, S. riddellii.
