Habitat and Description:
Low erect grass in small tufts. Open fields or edge of thickets. Perennial: roots. Soil: sandy-clay. Flowers: terminal racemes. Color: brownish. Leaves: very narrow and mostly basal. Rare in the vicinity of Brownsville.
