Habitat and Description: Common in well drained sand and gravel over sandstone outcrops (Strawn Group, Pennsylvanian) exposed on N-facing slope, opening in post oak-blackjack oak woodland. Associates include Eragrostis secundiflora, Chloris cucullata, Linaria sp., Buchloe dactyloides, Vulpia octoflora, Oenothera laciniata, Krameria lanceolata, Thamnosma texanum, Galium texense, spermolepis echinata, Chaetopappa asteroides, Cyperus filiculmis, Carex planostachys.
