Habitat and Description: Common in deep, moderately well drained, neutral, grayeish fine sand Grossarenic Paleustalfs (Patilo complex) over Calvert Bluff Formation (Eocene) on moderate S-facing slope, roadside margin of Post oak-Blackjack oak woodland. Associates include Asclepias tuberosa, Berlandiera pumila, Castilleja indivisa, Cnidoscolus texanus, euphorbia corollata, Evax candida, Gaillardia pulchella, Helianthus debilis, Heterotheca latifolia, H. pilosa, Hymenopapps artemisiifolius, Krigia occidentalis, Linaria texana, Leoflingia squarrosa, Monarda clinopodioides, M. punctata, Oenothera heterophylla, O. laciniata, Paronychia drummondii, Phyllanthus abnormis, Psoralidium rhombifolium, Rudbeckia hirta, Spermolepis divaricata, Stillingia sylvatica, Tephrosia virginiana, Tradescantia hirsutiflora, Triodanis texana.
