Habitat and Description: Occasional in red sandy clay on slopes and level areas in open shortleaf pine savanna. Associates include Andropogon gerardii, Sorghastrum nutans, Paspalum floridanum, Solidago nitida, Solidago rigida, Silphium laciniatum, Salvia azurea, Liatris aspera, Liatris punctata, Kuhnia eupatorioides, Aster ericoides.
