Habitat and Description: Common in deep, moderately well drained, neutral, loose fine sand (Patilo Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs) over sediments of Calvert Bluff Formation (Eocene), along margin of Post oak woodland. Associates include Scleria triglomerata, Schizachyrium scoparium, Baptisia leucophaea, Chaetopappa asteroides, Helianthemum rosmarinifolium, Polypremum procumbens, Schrankia sp., Lechea spp., Tradescantia sp., Trifolium bejariense, Phacelia patuliflora.
