Habitat and Description: Rounded, intricately-branched shrub 3 ft. tall, 4 ft. wide; locally common in grassland/shrubland in deep, moderately well drained neutral sandy clay loam Aquic Haplustalfs (Lyford Series), on level or slightly depressional area probably cleared within last 10 years. Associates include Ayenia pilosa, Solanum triquetrum, Trichloris pluriflora, Condalia hookeri, Zanthoxylum fagara, Lycium carolinianum, Sarcostemma cynanchoides.
