Habitat and Description: On sand ridges dominated by Quercus marilandica, Q. stellata, Carya texana; assoc. include Froelichia floridana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Lechea mucronata, Palafoxia hookeriana, Croton texensis; Simsboro Sand formation. Uniformly with Cream-color phyllaries on upper heads, with lower, immature heads bearing light-yellow phyllis; fl. tub lt-yel, lobes white.
