Habitat and Description: Locally common in deep, well drained sand on Pleistocene barrier island, openings in oak- redbay shrubland thickets. Associates include Andropogon gerardii, Ascyrum hypericoides, Heterotheca pilosa, Panicum ovinum, Paspalum spp., Rhynchospora divergens, Schizachyrium scoparium, Scleria ciliata, Solidago nitida, S. odora.
