Locality: United States, Texas, Atascosa, Median of IH-37 at picnic area just south of milepost 113.
Habitat and Description: Picnic area. In Queen City sand formation; soils gravelly, reddish-brown sand; Mesquite- Live Oak prairie, somewhat disturbed; with Opuntia engelmannii, O. macrorhiza, C. glandulosus, Froelichia drummondii, Lechea mucronata. Very large population in median and in adjacent fields; several plants up to 2.2 meters tall with several stems; tending to pyramidal infls.
