Habitat and Description: Frequent in deep, moderately well drained, neutral, grayish fine sand Grossarenic Paleustalfs (Patilo complex) over Calvert Bluff Formation (Eocene) on moderate S-facing slope, roadside margin of post oak-blackjack oak woodland. Associates include Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Asclepias tuberosa, Castilleja indivisa, Cnidoscolus texanus, Euphorbia corollata, Evax candida, Gaillardia pulchella, Helianthus debilis, Heterotheca latifolia, H. pilosa, Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Krigia occidentalis, Linaria texana, Loeflingia squarrosa, Monarda clinopodioides, M. punctata, Oenothera heterophylla, O. laciniata, Paronychia drummondii, Phyllanthus abnormis, Plantago hookeriana, Psoralidium rhombifolium, Rudbeckia hirta, Spermolepis divaricata, Stillingia sylvatica, Tephrosia virginiana, Tradescantia hirsutiflora, Triodanis texana.
