Habitat and Description: Habit erect herb; habitat open sandy ground; annual; soil sandy loam; flowers solitary arising from base; color yellow rays; odor faint; month Mar-April; leaves basal, long petiolate, oblong, or oval; bark reddish; roots fibrous. Frequent in the sand belt, Willacy and Kenedy Counties.
