Habitat and Description: Common in sandy loam in less frequently mown grassland on leveled upland. Associates include Stipa leucotricha, Bromus japonicus, Cynodon dactylon, Pyrrhopappus multicaulis, Verbena bipinnatifida, V. halei, Monarda citriodora, Limnodea arkansana, Engelmannia pinnatifida, Neptunia lutea, Chaerophyllum tainturieri, Hedyotis nigricans, Sisyrinchium sp., Hybanthus verticillatus, Tragia ramosa, Ghelesperma filifolium.
