Habitat and Description: Rare in shallow stony clay in open shrub land (mostly Acacia berlandieri, Leucophyllum frutescens and Juniperus ashei) on steep rocky N-facing limestone slope. Associates include Bouchea linifolia, Calylophus drummondianus, Chaetopappa bellidifolia, Cheilanthes spp., Cyphomeris gypsophiloides, Dalea aurea, Erioneuron pilosum, Galphimia angustifolia, Hedeoma acinoides, Heliotropium torreyi, Hybanthus verticillatus, Jatropha dioica, Linum rupestre, Macrosiphonia macrosiphon, Melica montezumae, Polygala lindheimeri, Prunus minutiflora, Salvia farinacea, Scutellaria drummondii, Selaginella lepidophylla, Verbena canescens, yucca treculeana, Zexmenia hispida.
