Habitat and Description:
Distributed in Southern Texas, an annual, prostrate herb with perennial roots. Sandy loam soil. Flowers are in axillary clusters, salmon red, odorless. Leaves pinnate, about 6 leaflets in pairs 1 odd. Fruit a linear pod, bark green, roots perennial. Occasional. The plant is distributed throughout the lower Rio Grande Valley.
