Habitat and Description: Rare in shallow gravelly loam Typic Ustorthents (Eddy series) over Austin Chalk, in little bluestem-tall Grama grassland somewhat invaded by Ashe juniper. Associates include Allium drummondii, Anemone heterophylla, Arenaria benthamii, Asclepias asperula, Bouteloua pectinata, Ceanothus herbaceus, Gilia rigidula, Hymenoxys scaposa, Lesquerella gracilis, Oenothera missouriensis, Prunus minutiflora, Schizachyrium scoparium.
