Habitat and Description: Frequent in soils mapped as deep, excessively drained, slight acid, fine sandy loam Typic Ustfluvents *(Sayers series), in shade of hackberry-elm woodland on frequently inundated stream terrace. Woody associates include Celtis laevigata, Ulmus crassifolia, U. americana, Fraxinus pensylvanica, Carya illinoinensis, Acer negundo, Cornus drummondii, Maclura pomifera, Ilex vomitoria, I. decidua, Rhus toxicodendron, Lonicera japonica. Herbaceous associates include Allium canadense var. canadense, Ambrosia trifida, Carex blanda, Carex bulbostylis, Carex cherokeensis, Carex retroflexa, Chasmanthium latifolium,Cocculus carolinus, Elymus virginicus, Galium aparine, Geum canadense, Lactuca ludoviciana, Mikania scandens, Myosotis macrosperma, Plantago rhodosperma, Sanicula canadensis, Triodanis biflora, Valerianella radiata, Verbesina virginica.
