Locality: United States, Texas, Cameron, 18 miles N of Brownsville, bordering the Paredes Road. Elev. 10 m.
Habitat and Description: Known from near the coast, in low moist open ground, a low perennial shrub on clay soil. Flowers are on upper art of stem, blue-purple, odorless. Leaves oblong-linear, smooth, pale green, thick. Fruit is a globose red berry, bark gray, roots woody. Occasional, it occurs in low moist ground, mostly clay.
