Habitat and Description: Corolla white, very small for Physalis, without maculae. Fruit with 10 very strong ribs often tinged with purple, occasional in moist to dry silt, sand and limestone gavel exposed in bed of inlet during year of exceptionally low water level. Lat/long det. via mylar overlay on Mansfield Dam Quadrangle. Associates include Alternathera polygonoides, Boerhavia coccinea, Centhrus incertus, Chamaesyce prostrata, C. serpens, Conyza canadensis, Cynodon dactylon, Cyperus odoratus, Digitaria ciliaris, Diodia virginiana, Echinochloa colona, Eleusine indica, Eupatorium serotinum, Fimbristylis vahlii, Heliotropium procumbens, Ipomaea trichocarpa, Modiola caroliniana, Neeragrostis reptans, Parthenium hysterophorus, Phyla nodiflora, Xanthium strumarium.
