Habitat and Description:
Erect branched annual herb in moist shady ground and clay soil at edge of a lake. Flowers axillary, small, dark center, yellow, odorless. Leaves are thin, large, ovate, acute, fine pubescent. Fruit a small berry in pointed calyx. Bark pale, roots fibrous. Only known from one locality in the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
