Habitat and Description:
Diffuse, spreading, prostrate or ascending annual with perennial roots, on clay soil flats. Flowers axillary, rotate, 20 mm bd., blue-purple. Leaves alternate, oblanceolate, sinuately lobed. Fruit on a long pedicel, subglobose. Rather common in dry clay soil from La Feria to Roma but becoming scarce in Hidalgo County.
