Habitat and Description: Habit: erect slender tufted grass. Habitat: open fields. Soil: clay. Flowers: terminal loose panicles. Color: reddish-purple. Leaves: narrow, thin, nearly smooth. Not abundant. It occurs in small tufts in open places.
