Habit: a tall ascending grass. Habitat: in moist ground. Perennial. Soil: clay. Flowers: are usually in two spikes. Color: greenish. Leaves: are from stem or near base, bright green. Fruit: is on a terminal spike. Bark: pale green. Roots: deep seated. Abundant in its preferred habitats.
