Habitat and Description:
Habit: in large clumps, a grass. Habitat: open sandy ground; on sandy flats. Annual. Flowers: are from the summit, woolly. Color: cream. Leaves: are pale green, from the stems. Fruit: covered with long woolly hairs. Bark: pale green. Roots: perennial; stout, firm. In colonies in the dry sandy region of south Texas.
