Habitat and Description: Occasional in very shallow, well drained, moderately alkaline gravelly loam (Olmos Series, Petrocalcic Calciustolls) over Buda Limestone, in open diverse low shrubland on gentle W-facing slope. Woody associates include Acacia berlandieri, Berberis trifoliolata, Calliandra conferta, Castela erecta, Colubrina texensis, Condalia spathulata, Croton dioicus, C. incanus, Dalea formosa, Diospyros texana, Echinocereus reichenbachii, Ephedra antisyphilitica, Forestiera angustifolia, Guaiacum angustifolium, Krameria ramosissima, Leucophyllum frutescens, Macrosiphonia macrosiphon, Mimosa borealis, Nolina texana, Opuntia leptocaulis, O. lindheimeri, Parkinsonia texana, Prosopis glandulosa, Rhus microphylla, Salvia ballotiflora, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Tiquilia canescens, Wedelia hispida, Yucca constricta, Y. treculeana.
