Habitat and Description: Frequent in open shrubland dominated by Acacia berlandieri, shallow stony clay over Uvalde Gravel. Associates include Acleisanthes longiflora, Acourtia runcinata, Aristolochia coryi, Bouteloua trifida, Calylophus berlandieri, Chaetopappa bellioides, Chamaeyce angusta, Croton pottsii, Dalea pogonathera, Dalea nana, Erioneuron pilosum, Euphorbia lata, Gaillardia pulchella, Galium proliferum, Gaura calcicola, Hedeoma nanum var. nanum, Hedyotis acerosa, Hoffmannseggia glauca, Lesquerella fendleri, Melampodium cinereum, Plantago helleri, Sabatia campestris, Salvia texana, Scutellaria drummondii, Senna bauhinioides, Tetraclea coulteri, Thamnosma texanum, Thelesperma simplicifolium, Thymophylla pentachaeta.
