Habitat and Description: Corolla ca. 1 cm. long; occasional in sparse ground layer of hackberry-elm swamp forest on seasonally inundated clay in broad, very slight depressional area. Associates include Celtis laevigata, Ulmus crassifolia or U. alata, Sapium sebiferum, Sabal minor, Cyperus sect. Luzuloidae, Rhynchospora corniculata, Eleocharis sp., Justicia lanceolata.
