Habitat and Description: Growing on the railroad right of way. Distribution: Known from the coast. Erect, branched herb. Open grounds, fields etc. Annual. Roots perennial. Bark Gray-green. Leaves are rough to the touch, upper ones smaller. Flowers: composite, many with a faint odor. Yellow rays. Flowering in Sept-Nov. Fruit an achene. Abundant in waste places around town in Port Isabel, Texas.
