Habitat and Description: Large subshrub filling most of space under large mesquite along margin of mesquite-palm brush stand. Associates include Celtis laevigata, C. pallida, Chiococca alba, Citharexylum berlandieri, Cocculus diversifolius, Condalia hookeri, Forestiera angustifolia, Galactia sp., Ceucaena pulverulenta, Malpighia glabra, Malvastrum americanum, Panicum maximum, Pennisetum ciliare, Phaulothamnus spinescens, Pithecellobium ebano, P. pallens, Randia rhagocarpa, Sabal mexicana, Salvia coccinea, Serjania sp., Sideroxylon celastrinum, Verbesina microptera, Zanthoxylum fagara, Ziziphus obtusifolius.
