Habitat and Description: Frequent in sparsely vegetated remnant grassland in very shallow clay over Goodland Limestone (Cretaceous) on level upland. Associates include Arenaria stricta, Asclepias asperula, Carex planostachys, Chrysopsis canescens, Dalea aurea, D. enneandra, D. tenuis, D. reverchonii, Dyschoriste linearis, Euphorbia missurica, Hedyotis nigricans, Heliotropium tenellum, Iva angustifolia, Liatris punctata, Oenothera missouriensis, Pediomelum cuspidatum, P. reverchonii, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Salvia texana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Silphium albiflorum, Stillingia texana, Thelesperma filifolium, Vernonia lindheimeri.
