Locality: United States, Texas, Tarrant, On fairly steep W-facing slope, 0-800 ft. NW of jeep trail along SE perimeter fence, at first canyon SW of E tip of park, ca. 4.3 airmiles SW of jct. US Rt. 287/81 and F. M. 718 at Avondale. Eagle Mountain Lake State Park (undeveloped). Avondale Quadrangle. Elev. ca. 700 - 720 ft.

Habitat and Description: Frequent, conspicuous in little bluestem dominated midgrass grassland on gravelly clay loam (mapped as Maloterre, Aledo, and Brackett soils) over some sort of Cretaceous limestone (Walnut Clay?). Associates include Andropogon gerardii, Bouteloua pectinata, Schizachyrium scoparium, Allium canadense var. fraseri, Asclepias asperula, Asclepias viridiflora, Bifora americana, Calylophus drummondianus, Cirsium undulatum, Dalea aurea, D. tenuis, Dyschoriste linearis, Echinacea angustifolia, Engelmannia pinnatifida, Erigeron strigosus, Hedyotis nigricans, Iva angustifolia, Krameria lanceolata, Liatris punctata, Linum rupestre, Pediomelum reverchonii, Polygala alba, Ruellia humilis, Salvia texana, Scutellaria drummondii, Solidago sp., Stillingia texana, Thelesperma filifolium, Tragia ramosa.
