Habitat and Description: Rare in deep, well drained, calcareous, mildly alkaline, fine sandy loam (Hardeman Series, Typic Ustochrepts) in mown lawn/grassland on level upland on Pleistocene terrace deposits. Associates include Acalypha radians, Aristida purpurea, Boerhavia coccinea, Bothriochloa ischaemum, Bouteloua hirsuta, B. rigidiseta, B. trifida, Cenchrus incertus, Chloris cucullata, C. verticillata, Cnidoscolus texanus, Eragrostis secundiflora, Heterotheca latifolia, Leptoloma cognatum, Pediomelum rhombifolium, Richardia tricoccca, Sporobolus cryptandrus.
