Locality: United States, Texas, Starr, 100-1000 ft. SE of unnamed paved road, 0.5 mi. SW of its jct. with F. M. 2098 in Falcon Heights, ca. 0.8 airmiles S of jct. F. M. 2098 and Park Road 4, almost due E of E end of Falcon Dam. Falcon Village Quadrangle. Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Cuellar Tract. Elev. 260 - 270 ft.

Habitat and Description: Frequent in deep, undulating, calcareous, saline, clay Paleustollic Torrerts (Catarina series) over Yegua Formation (Eocene), in open thorn scrubland on rolling dissected topography. Associates include Chaetopappa asteroides, Aphanostephus kidderi, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Chamaesyce albomartinata, Melampodium cinereum, Palafoxia texana, Bouteloua trifida, Thymophylla pentachaeta, Acourtia runcinata, Bahia absinthifolia, Acacia berlandieri, A. rigidula, Castela texana, Condalia spathulata, Ephedra antisyphilitica, Eysenhardtia texana, Guaiacum angustifolium, Hechtia glomerata, Hibiscus martianus, Jatropha dioica, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Koeberlinia spinosa, Krameria ramosissima, Leucophyllum frutescens, Parkinsonia texana, Prosopis glandulosa, Salvia ballotiflora, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Sida grayana, Tiquilia canescens, Varilla texana, Viguiera stenoloba, Yucca constricta, Y. treculeana, Zanthoxylum fagara.
