Habitat and Description: Habit: erect branched herb. Habitat: sandy flats near the coast. Annual. Soil: sandy loam. Flowers: are in terminal spikes. Color: pale yellow. Odor: of weeds. Month: Aug.-Sept. Leaves: are rough, long narrow, pale green. Fruit: a small nutlet. Bark: brown. Roots: fibrous. Abundant in its preferred soils along the coast in Cameron County.
