Habitat and Description: Rare in fine sandy loam in shade of young mesquite woodland heavily utilized by cattle, on valley flat between gravel hills. Associates include Acacia smallii, A. rigidula, Salvia ballotiflora, Buchloe dactyloides, Cynodon dactylon, Trichloris pluriflora, Ambrosia confertiflora, Calyptocarpus vialis, Gutierrezia sp., Gaura brachycarpa, Malvastrum coromandelianum, Cirsium texanum, Sarcostemma cynanchoides, Ratibida columnifera.
