Habitat and Description:
Habit: erect, diffuse, suffrutescent. Habitat: gravel hillsides in Starr County. Soil: clay. Flowers: terminal, solitary. Color: yellow. Leaves: alternate or clustered, short petioled, obtuse. Bark: scabrous. Rather abundant on the dry clay and gravel hillsides. The foliage is a grayish color and looks as if it was drying up.
