Habitat and Description: Habit: erect, branched shrub. Habitat: thickets in ravines. Soil: sandy loam. Flowers: are on a long stem, solitary. Color: yellow rays. Odor: none. Month: Apr.-Oct. Leaves: hispid, pale, elliptic-ovate, short petiolate. Bark: brown. Roots: woody. Occasional on the hillsides in Starr County.
