Habitat and Description: Stems 4-5 ft. tall; corollas yellow; locally common in silty alluvial soil on nearly level stream terrace at margin of strip in deciduous riparian woodland. Associates include Verbesina virginica, Geum canadense, Chasmanthium latifolium, Desmodium paniculatum, Verbena brasiliense, Carya illinoinensis, Platanus occidentalis, Salix nigra, Acer negundo.
