Habitat and Description: Common in sparsely vegetated opening in oak-redbay woodland on deep loose well drained sand of Pleistocene barrier island dune. Associates include Brachiaria ciliatissima, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Dalea obovata, Eriogonum multiflorum, Eupatorium compositifolium, Gaillardia pulchella, Helianthemum rosmarinifolium, Linaria texana, Oenothera heterophylla, Phlox drummondii, Triodanis perfoliata.
