Habitat and Description:
Roadside. Sandy soil. Geology: Carrizo Sand (Eocene). Plants 45 cm. tall; stems herbaceous; minute hairs cover stem; leaves linear, alternate; slightly pubescent, to 2.5 cm. long; disk about 1.5 cm. across, 10-12 rays deep red with yellow tips; to 1.5 cm. long.
