Habitat and Description: Growing in sandy alluvial soil. This plant is believed to be of hybrid origin from the two taxa indicated above - [Helenium elegans DC. var. amphibolum (Gray) Bierner] x [Helenium microcephalum DC. var. ooclinium (Gray) Bierner].
