Locality: United States, Texas, Harris, In graminoid-dominated opening in water oak woodland, ca. 50-500 ft. N of Clay Road, ca. 500-1000 ft. W of Langham Creek, ca. 1.0-1.1 roadmiles E of St. Rt. 6. Addicks Reservoir Training Area (Texas National Guard lease of US Army Corps of Engineers property). Addicks Quadrangle. Elev. 100 - 105 ft.
Habitat and Description: Annual, stems unbranched except at top; rays maroon, disks purple-brown; rare in seasonally moist fine sandy loam. Associates include Carex cherokeensis, C. complanata, Juncus brachycarpus, J. marginatus, Dichanthelium scoparium, Tridens strictus, Limnosciadium pumilum, Sabatia campestris, Rhynchospora caduca, Paspalum plicatulum, Neptunia lutea, Cacalia plantaginea, Coreopsis cardaminifolia.
