Habitat and Description: Rare, local in mixed woodland on steep rocky limestone slope at top of sheer N-facing limestone bluff. Associates include Aster texanus, Berberis trifoliolata, Bumelia lanuginosa, Cercis canadensis var. texensis, Cheilanthes horridula, Dichanthelium sp., Eupatorium havanense, Fraxinus texensis, Garrya lindheimeri, Juniperus ashei, Nolina texana, Ptelea trifoliata, Quercus buckleyi, Q. fusiformis, Q. sinuata, Rhamnus caroliniana, Rhus lanceolata, R. toxicodendron, Ruellia humilis, Salvia roemeriana, Tridens buckleyanus, Ungnadia speciosa, Viburnum rufidulum, Yucca rupicola.
