Habitat and Description: Occasional in sandy loam in open post oak-black hickory woodland on level to gently rolling upland. Associates include Tridens flavus, Aster patens, Helianthus hirsutus, Schizachyrium scoparium, Rudbeckia hirta, Lechea mucronata, Stylosanthes biflora, Antennaria fallax, Oxalis violacea, Liatris elegans, Vernonia texana.
